Labor Day Weekend at the Hotel at Avalon

For Labor Day this year, we decided to do something a little different from our normal beach trip and try a staycation here instead!  We got extremely lucky with the most beautiful, sunny weather all weekend which was perfect for the time we spent outdoors.  Our staycation took place at Avalon, located right outside of Atlanta in the heart of Alpharetta.  Avalon is mixed use space that has taken the live, work, play concept to perfection.  With shopping, dining, events & entertainment, and the most stunning hotel, Avalon is perfect for a weekend staycation.

The Hotel at Avalon

The Hotel at Avalon is located at the end of the Avalon strip.  Whether you stay the night or stop in for drinks, the entire property is absolutely stunning.  From the moment you enter the building, the design and aesthetics bring a luxury resort feel to the modern suburb community.

Spending the weekend at Avalon

One of our favorite things to do as a family is go out to eat.  We go to dinner at Avalon often because the multi-use property makes it extremely convenient for families.  With shopping, dining and play, it gives us the opportunity to let the kids run around and burn off some energy before we sit down to eat.  Aside from shopping, there are cute little spots throughout the community for you to sit and people watch while the kids play or you can always just grab a drink and walk around!
We have dined at all of the restaurants that Avalon has to offer but El Felix is definitely one of our favorites!  We may be a little biased towards Mexican food but El Felix is always fantastic.  From the authentic Mexican food to the mouthwatering FrozĂ© to the charming covered patio, El Felix is a must while visiting Avalon!
After dinner we always walk around Avalon while we decide we all want to eat for dessert.  Loyal and I love to window shop while the kids love to walk around with us, stop and waive at the train as it passes by and even make new friends at the kid friendly green space.  The atmosphere at Avalon can not be beat and is so charming with the lights all throughout the trees at night!
Staying at The Hotel at Avalon made our weekend so convenient.  We were able to stay a little longer than we usually do without having to rush home to get the kid to bed.  We had so much fun Saturday evening that we all got a great night sleep in the heavenly beds.  For breakfast the next morning, we made our way down to South City Kitchen which is located at the bottom of the hotel.  The food there is always fantastic and if you grab a table on the patio, it makes for the most perfect outdoor brunch!

Labor Day Pig Out hosted by Oak and Colletta

On Sunday evening, we attended Oak and Colletta's 5th Annual Labor Day Pig Out.  Oak Steakhouse and Colletta are two of the higher-end restaurants at Avalon and their food is outstanding.  The event was so much fun for the entire family!  There was a plethora of delicious BBQ as well as live music and fun activities for the kiddos.  I think our kids left with more balloon animals than they could carry!

A huge thank you to the Hotel at Avalon, Oak Steakhouse and Colletta for our weekend. Xo
