Leopard flats styled 4 ways

I was browsing through J.Crew the other day and came across the cutest pair of calf hair leopard d'Orsay flats!  I have always been a big fan of a d'Orsay shoe, whether heel or flat.  They add something a little different than a standard shoe would and are a flattering and classic touch.  With J.Crew bringing out all of their new fall clothes, I was easily able to pair these leopard flats with several outfits.  I love to add a printed accent to any outfit made of basic staples.  It can really spice up neutrals and add a pop of fun to your look!  All of the outfits that I put together can easily be interchangeable with each of the pieces as well as taking them from work to weekend.

Leopard Flats with jeans and a sweater

I am starting with this look because it is probably my favorite!  This is such a great casual outfit that will make you feel classy and put together.  The leopard flats with the classic neutral sweater is great for casual Friday's at the office, weekend wear or even the put together stay-at-home mom.

Leopard flats with leather leggings

This look is a little on the edgy side with the leather leggings but in a subtle and tasteful way.  These vegan faux leather leggings are buttery soft and surprisingly very affordable!  Paired with a cozy knit turtle neck that is long enough to cover the backside, this outfit is a great neutral look.  (If leather leggings aren't your thing, you can always swap them for a pair of black dress pants, Spanx leggings or whatever you prefer!)

Leopard flats with a camel sweater coat

For this look I paired the same vegan leather leggings with a sleeveless blouse and camel cardigan coat. (Which also comes in the prettiest burnt orange color!)  I absolutely love J.Crew's sleeveless blouses and have several of them that I wear throughout the year.  I wear them by themselves in the summer and usually under a cardigan or blazer in the winter.  The great thing about this cardigan is that it is technically called a "cardigan coat" making it slightly thicker and warmer than your normal cardigan.  Throwing it over a thicker sweater would make for a great lightweight coat in the winter!

Leopard flats with a oversized turtleneck

Here you can see just how versatile each pieces that I chose is.  This is the same turtleneck from look #2 paired with the denim from the first look.  That's what a I love about good neutral basics, that they are always interchangeable.  I love this look just as much as the first one.  The denim is extremely soft, comfortable and flattering making this the perfect outfit for any day of the week!

A tweed midi skirt for Fall

If you remember my top picks from the Nordstrom Sale this summer, then you probably remember me saying that this tweed midi skirt was my absolute favorite purchase.  It immediately caught my eye when I was browsing the presale and once I tried it on, I was sold!  It is classy, flattering and truly stunning to see in person.  The material and quality is fantastic.  The thing that I love most about this skirt is that you can pull so many colors from the pattern to pair it with making it an extremely versatile piece of your wardrobe.  Whether with a cream camisole and mustard cardigan or a sleek black bodysuit (seen here), this tweed skirt will always be a staple in my fall office wear.

The new jeans that I am loving

I have been seeing a lot of new trends with denim lately.  It's been a strong few years of the super skinny, tight ankle look.  Don't get me wrong about skinny jeans, they will always be my favorite and the most flattering but recently I've been open to trying out new styles.  While I don't normally gravitate towards jeans that aren't fitted (aside from the occasional boyfriend pair), seeing the straight leg trend take off peaked my interest.  I decided to start with my tried and true, Abercrombie, because their jeans always fit the best.  As expected, these high waisted straight leg jeans fit great, are super flattering and are quickly becoming one of my most worn pairs this fall.  I fluctuate between a 25 and 26 in their jeans and I ended up going with a 25 Short in these. (I'm 5'3" for reference.)  Because this fit is a little looser in the leg, I styled with a white fitted bodysuit to create a more seamless look.  Paired with a pop of red, this classic style jean makes for a modern classic outfit!

Abercrombie is currently running a sale for 25% of your entire purchase with code 15069

Fall footwear that is on trend this year

Fall is upon us and I always get so excited for new clothes and shoes to start rolling out.  It seems that the weather is usually a bit behind and we can't actually wear fall shoes for a little while longer but it's nice to have them ready to go when the cool temps finally decide to come around.  From what I have seen so far, this year is all about the warm tones and animal prints.  Cognac, camel and rich browns are making a statement this year but if #extra is your thing then snake skin boots will not fail you in making a major statement!  Today I'm rounding all of my favorites, recent additions to my own closet and wish list items as well!

Heels and Pumps

It's no surprise that pumps are my go to when it comes to shoes.  They add so much to an outfit and in return make me feel more put together.   I have recently gotten a few new pairs of pumps including these navy suede heels.  They are stunning and make your legs look so flattering!  This style heel comes in a wide variety of colors and after seeing all of them in store, I kinda want them all!  Another pair that I got recently are these camel block heels.  I have been seeing this color everywhere it is the perfect practical heel that will complement any fall outfit!

Flats and Loafers

Flats and loafers are always a staple when it comes to office wear.  They provide comfort and style making them the most practical option for anyone who is on their feet throughout the day.  My all time favorite flat would have to be the Steve Madden Feather Loafers that come in a plethora of colors, prints and styles.  They are extremely versatile and are one of the most sensible shoes I own.  I also love a classic d'Orsay flat.  I think these a sexy yet conservative twist on the standard flat.  My red suede d'Orsay's is a fun way to add a pop of color to an outfit!

Booties are always a must when it comes to the summer/fall transition!  Whether worn with jeans, dresses or shorts, they are on of the most versatile pieces of an outfit making them a staple in your wardrobe.  I always love a classic leather bootie like the cognac ones above.  A pointy toe block heel can add a little sexy to any outfit making it a great shoe for a date night or girls night out!

Last but not least, let's talk boots!  So many options in this department and gosh, I love them all!  Boots are a perfect example of how a shoe can change the look of an outfit entirely.  For example, leggings with a pair of riding boots are a great way to make leggings look a little more put together.  Now pair those same leggings with a pair of black suede Over The Knee boots and BAM, we are ready for date night!  I love how the boot trend has evolved.  Whether paired with leggings, denim, dresses, skirt and even shorts, boots are one way to make a serious statement!

Black and white stripes for the office

One thing I love to incorporate into office looks is versatile pieces that are affordable.  Every piece in this outfit is affordable and comfortable making it an extremely practical and effortless outfit for the office.  A soft cotton blend in a black and white striped print combines classic chic with comfort.  I know that heels are not always preferred when it comes to the workplace and this look provides a more sensible option.  I always get requests for more outfits with flats and these tan suede loafers are one of my most worn pairs.  They come in a variety of shades and patterns including this snake skin print that is on trend and will spice up any neutral outfit!

Labor Day Weekend at the Hotel at Avalon

For Labor Day this year, we decided to do something a little different from our normal beach trip and try a staycation here instead!  We got extremely lucky with the most beautiful, sunny weather all weekend which was perfect for the time we spent outdoors.  Our staycation took place at Avalon, located right outside of Atlanta in the heart of Alpharetta.  Avalon is mixed use space that has taken the live, work, play concept to perfection.  With shopping, dining, events & entertainment, and the most stunning hotel, Avalon is perfect for a weekend staycation.

The Hotel at Avalon

The Hotel at Avalon is located at the end of the Avalon strip.  Whether you stay the night or stop in for drinks, the entire property is absolutely stunning.  From the moment you enter the building, the design and aesthetics bring a luxury resort feel to the modern suburb community.

Spending the weekend at Avalon

One of our favorite things to do as a family is go out to eat.  We go to dinner at Avalon often because the multi-use property makes it extremely convenient for families.  With shopping, dining and play, it gives us the opportunity to let the kids run around and burn off some energy before we sit down to eat.  Aside from shopping, there are cute little spots throughout the community for you to sit and people watch while the kids play or you can always just grab a drink and walk around!
We have dined at all of the restaurants that Avalon has to offer but El Felix is definitely one of our favorites!  We may be a little biased towards Mexican food but El Felix is always fantastic.  From the authentic Mexican food to the mouthwatering FrozĂ© to the charming covered patio, El Felix is a must while visiting Avalon!
After dinner we always walk around Avalon while we decide we all want to eat for dessert.  Loyal and I love to window shop while the kids love to walk around with us, stop and waive at the train as it passes by and even make new friends at the kid friendly green space.  The atmosphere at Avalon can not be beat and is so charming with the lights all throughout the trees at night!
Staying at The Hotel at Avalon made our weekend so convenient.  We were able to stay a little longer than we usually do without having to rush home to get the kid to bed.  We had so much fun Saturday evening that we all got a great night sleep in the heavenly beds.  For breakfast the next morning, we made our way down to South City Kitchen which is located at the bottom of the hotel.  The food there is always fantastic and if you grab a table on the patio, it makes for the most perfect outdoor brunch!

Labor Day Pig Out hosted by Oak and Colletta

On Sunday evening, we attended Oak and Colletta's 5th Annual Labor Day Pig Out.  Oak Steakhouse and Colletta are two of the higher-end restaurants at Avalon and their food is outstanding.  The event was so much fun for the entire family!  There was a plethora of delicious BBQ as well as live music and fun activities for the kiddos.  I think our kids left with more balloon animals than they could carry!

A huge thank you to the Hotel at Avalon, Oak Steakhouse and Colletta for our weekend. Xo
