July recap

And just like that guys, July is over and summer is coming to an end.  My oldest goes back to school tomorrow (it feels SO early!) and I'm sitting here wondering how in the world summer flew by so fast!  Either way, school is starting back and this time of year always gets me so excited for Fall.  But before we close out the month of July, I'm rounding up all of my favorites from the month.  I post a lot of outfits to my Instagram or on LiketoKnowIt so I wanted to document them here as well!

Our trip to Cabo

Loyal and I took our first trip together, without kids, to Cabo for my best friends wedding.  We had the most amazing time and the views were absolutely stunning!
We stayed at Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach Resort and it was amazing.
Gorgeous property, great food and fantastic location for a destination wedding.

This is my most worn bag this summer!  It's a designer dupe and under $25.  I love it so much that I'm thinking about ordering it in brown for Fall.  Color in photo is Apricot.

My Top Nordstrom Sale Picks

The Nordstrom sale is HERE!!! And open to the public!!!
This sale is always a favorite of mine for many reasons.  If you are new to the Nordstrom sale, it's basically where brands release their new Fall items at sale prices!  It's a great time to stock up and upgrade your wardrobe with some great Fall staples.  Whether you are shopping for work wear, shoes, casual everyday wear, athletic clothes, beauty or home, Nordstrom really brings it all.  So let's get right to it!  Here are my top pics from the sale and below are some of the items I tried on and purchased.

Nordstrom Sale Top Picks

Shoes and sweaters were high on my list this year.  I have been wanting a pair of over the knee boots for a couple years (without having to spend a bunch on Stuart Weitzman's) and Steve Madden nailed it with these.  Speaking of Steve Madden, he always brings a great, on trend, flat to the sale and these snake skin loafers sold out immediately.  They come in a couple other colors (LOVE the grey suede and mustard color!) and are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes!  I was able to grab the snake print when they came back for presale so if you are eyeing these, jump on them while you can!  Cardigans were also high on my list.  They are a great office staple as well as transitioning from summer to fall.  I purchased both the grey and cream (pictured below in mustard color) and I love them.  I included a bunch of great basics and staples in my pics but this tweed pencil skirt is a statement piece that I absolutely fell in love with!

Steve Madden Everly Over the Knee Boots

Kicking things off with the very first thing that went into my cart, the Steve Madden Over the Knee boots!  I can't say enough about these because I absolutely LOVE them.  They are great quality, great price, super sexy and exactly what I have been looking for.  Also pictured is this longline grey cardigan.  Another top pick and a great staple piece for your wardrobe.  True to size and a little on the lighter side for a cardigan.
(Boots run a little small so go up half a size.)

Halogen Black Blazer

Here I swapped out the cardigan with a black blazer for more of a casual chic look.  This would be great for a date night in the fall or winter!  This blazer was very well made and extremely affordable!
(I am wearing a small but probably would have done better in a petite size.)

Long Cardigan and Camisole

One of my favorite looks and a staple outfit in my closet.  I love pairing a satin camisole with a long cardigan.  It looks great with any shoe, whether boots, wedges, heels or flats.  This BP Longline Cardigan is on the thicker side and definitely comfortable and cozy!  I love this color but ordered it in cream for myself.  Camisoles are always a favorite for me and this print is so dainty and pretty.  It comes in several other colors if this one is not for you. :)
(Wearing a small in the cami and XXS small in the cardigan.  Cardigan is oversized and I like mine a little more fitted so I sized down.)

Wrap Sweater and Pencil Skirt

This was another outfit made of great staple pieces.  The wrap sweater is so soft and flattering.  It comes in many different colors and I was honestly a little torn on which one I liked best!  This pencil skirt is a great staple for your closet at a fantastic price.  It was extremely comfortable and flattering as well.
Wearing a small in the top.  Size down for a more fitted look.  Comes in petite as well!
Paired here with Vince Camuto Trousers for more of a sleek look.  I can't decide which I like better!

Tweed Pencil Skirt

This tweed pencil skirt is probably my most favorite item out of everything that I saw and everything that I bought.  It is so classy, elegant and beautifully made.  I felt amazing in it!  It is extremely versatile and can go with so many colors.  I honestly plan on wearing this all fall, winter and for many years to come!
(Wearing a 2.)
Paired with black or burgundy, both look great!  You can really see the detail in these close ups too.  SO beautiful!
(Both of these tops are sold out.  I linked them here and below so keep an eye out for restocks!  Wearing an XS in the black sweater and a small in the burgundy bodysuit.)

I hope you loved all of my picks!  I had so much fun shopping this sale, as I do every year.  I just wanted to say a quick thank you to everyone who follows me, supports the blog, shops through my links, etc.  I really love doing this and your support means the world to me.  Thank you!
