A story about Callie

It was Memorial Day weekend of 2016.  The boys were still pretty young and because they are only 18 months apart, we were right in the thick of it with challenging ages.  Loyal and I had always talked about having a third baby and trying for a girl but I desperately needed some time without being pregnant or nursing before I could even fathom having another.  I got pregnant with Loyal in August of 2011 and nursed him into my pregnancy with Roman.  Once I

Summer Vacation Style

We are headed to the beach today for a little Memorial Day weekend getaway!  We have been anticipating this trip for a while now and couldn't be more ready for a much needed break from reality.  Now that summer break is finally here, I am craving all of the classic summer styles.  Whites, blues, flats, rompers and a pop of red, I need all of it!  Today I am sharing all of the pieces I've recently added to my summer wardrobe.

The Steve Madden slides are everywhere right now and I finally snagged a pair.  They scream summer to me and I just had to have them!  You can never go wrong with the classic red Baywatch inspired one piece during any beach vacation.  Ray Bans and ball caps will always be summer staples for me and rompers are pretty much a must too!  Hope this brought a little summer inspo to your Thursday!  Xo

Buffalo Chicken Chopped Salad

I am so excited to finally share this recipe.  I always have so many people ask for it when I post it on Instagram so I figured it was time to officially put it out there.  My husband and I absolutely love this salad.  We normally make it on the weekends and consider it a guilt-free-cheat-meal.  I know what you are probably thinking, the chicken is

They said not to blink

I've heard it so many times when it comes to raising your kids.  Everyone says not to blink because it will fly right by.  Here I am, feeling beyond overjoyed with where we are today but also a bit emotional as I've come to realize the truth in how fast it really does go by.  Loyal graduated preschool yesterday and while I am aware that this is the

The best Mother's Day yet

All I wanted for Mother's Day this year was to work in the front yard while the kids played outside.  We all love to get some fresh air and run through the grass barefoot, especially when summer is just kicking off and the grass is finally soft and green again after a long winter.  We woke up Sunday morning with kids piled on top of us, squealing and

The truth about Motherhood

With Mother's Day coming up this weekend, I wanted to share a few things that I have learned about being a mom.  I love my kids with every once of my being but they don't always make raising them easy.  From the unexpected to the nitty gritty moments that moms don't warn you about, I'm laying it all out for you with some mom-to-mom real talk.

1. Motherhood is hard.  Like, really hard.  Every single stage of motherhood brings a new level of exhaustion that I never knew existed.  From the day you bring your newborn home and are trying to figure everything out for the first time to being right in the thick of it with the terrible two's (don't even get me started on the three's!) to the hustle and bustle of after school activities, you are forever running the motherhood marathon.  If there is anything that is

An early Mother's Day with my mom

We celebrated my mom this past weekend with an early Mother's Day brunch.  It's nice to celebrate the weekend before and get the hustle and bustle out of the way so that we can all relax and enjoy our own Mother's Day however we want.  I know I will most likely be ready for some good R&R after a busy start to May!  This time of year always
