I've been going back and forth about writing this post for a while now and I guess I just decided to go for it.  We have been all over the place lately and that kind of lifestyle definitely isn't for everyone.  People always ask me "so where are you guys living right now?" Lol.  I know our situation is confusing to some and I get that.  Somehow we seem to make it work for us.  I wanted to share what has been going on with us for the past few months because sometimes it feels good to put it all out there and just release.

Ever since Loyal started working for the company he is with, we have been all over the place.  We traveled a lot for work before we had kids and it was honestly some of the best times we have had together!  The way his job works is that once the work is done, wherever we are, you go home and wait for them to send you somewhere else.  We worked a job here in Atlanta for about a year and a half starting around the time that Lo was born.  When we were done, we went back to New Orleans to work on our house and start making it a home.  We were there for about 4 months and we knew that the time was getting near that they would call us and send us to another location.  We went back and forth so many times about how we were going to do it.  There is always the chance that they would only need Loyal for a month or 2 in that location so we needed to figure out if that risk was worth packing all the kids and dogs up just to turn around and do it again so shortly after.  It basically came down to the fact that we just couldn't break up our family.  Loyal and I lived apart for a year while he was working in Dallas and I was finishing school in Atlanta and it wasn't anything that we wanted to do again.  Now that kids are involved, there's no chance.  We ended up getting called to work earlier this April and much to our surprise, they sent us to Atlanta!  We were beyond excited and so fortunate to be sent back to Atlanta where we have friends and family.

While we were living in New Orleans, I was in such a funk for the few months that we were there.  I don't know if it was because we were trying to live in our house while we were renovating it or if it was because it was a big move for me but looking back, it was probably a combination of both.  I think that another big contributor to that was that I was a little overwhelmed taking care of both of the kids when every day seemed to be so long.  Now that Roman is one, things have gotten so much easier.  Loyal is in preschool 3 days a week and that gives me and Roman some one on one time, which I love.  We have a great schedule and routine going right now and everyone seems so be responding to it really well.

We hired a contractor to finish the work on our house in New Orleans.  I will post before and after pictures once all of the odds and ends are complete.  We will be going down for Christmas and while we are there, we will pack everything up and get the house ready to go on the market in early January.  We are hoping to sell it quickly to relieve us of the burden of basically paying for a house that we aren't living in.  We don't really have a plan after that.  I am so ready to have a house that we will actually live in but it's kind of difficult to plan with Loyal's job.  We will eventually buy another house somewhere but in the mean time, we will stay here in Atlanta for as long as Loyal is working here.

Well, there you have it.  That's what has been going on with us since April.  For the first time in a long time, I am finally feeling organized again and on top of all of my stuff.  I feel like a better mom and a better person all around when I'm organized so I'm feeling pretty good right now!  Our life can be so hectic at times.  I have learned over the past few years that all of the small stuff doesn't matter.  What matters is that we have each other.  I am really happy with what we have going on at the moment and I'm even more excited for what's to come!

Also, fall in Georgia just can't be beat!  The leaves changing seemed extra beautiful this year so I am currently soaking up every last little bit of it on our afternoon walks.
