Hillcrest Apple Farm

One day last month, Brittany and I took the kids to Hillcrest Orchards in Ellijay.  I had never been apple picking and was dying to go this year.  Brittany knew of this great little farm so we left early one morning and headed up north.  This farm had it all.  Apples, animals, tractors, food and lots of fun stuff for the kids.  I had high hopes of bringing home buckets of apples to bake a million different apple desserts but we went on a Monday and found out when we got there that the actual picking of the apples is only open on the weekends.  So yeah, that was a bummer.  But in all honesty, we were pretty maxed out after everything else that we did there that I don't think we would have had the energy for it anyway.  The kids had so much fun together.  Loyal and Alexis are a week apart in age so they get along really well.  Poor little Roman was dying to get out of the stroller and play but just wasn't big enough.  It's tough when you're on the verge of walking but just not there yet.  The kids played the day away, we ate hot dogs, took a really bumpy tractor ride and eventually had to peel two over-tired toddlers out of there.  But! We will be back next year for those apples. ;)
^ Taking the role of driving his lady around very seriously.  HA!
