This year turned out to be so much fun!  Loyal is really into pirates right now so we went to Target one afternoon to get a pirate costume.  While we were there, we happened to come across a Jake and the Neverland Pirate's costume and Loyal LOVED IT!  He was so excited about it.  We put it on him Friday night just before we left the house to go to Food Truck Friday and as we were about to get in the car, he wanted it off.  We just figured that he didn't want to wear it in his car seat but he ended up refusing to wear it all night.  We asked him so many times and he would say "no Jake, me Wooyal."  I guess he didn't want to be Jake anymore so the costume stayed in the bottom of the stroller all night.  We got Roman in his costume though and he was the cutest little shark!  His little lovie is a shark (which Lo calls "Sharry" since he can't pronounce the k) so that's what we went with for him.  After about five minutes of crying, he was good to go!

On Halloween night, we went to my Dad's neighborhood to Trick-or-Treat.  We asked Lo again and again if he wanted to wear his costume but it was still a no.  We did manage to get the hat on him and that was good enough for us!  We loaded the kids up in our new wagon that Roman got for his birthday.  It came right in time and made Trick-or-Treating so much easier not having to carry anyone.  Loyal did so well Trick-or-Treating.  He caught on right away.  We were laughing so hard every time he went to a door.  He would knock so softly and as soon as the door would open, he would say as quietly as he could "Halloween, treat-treat."

Halloween was so much fun and I know it will be even more fun next year when Roman will be able to participate a little more.  He only made it to about 3 houses before he started falling asleep on Dad's shoulder!  Holidays become so much more special once you are able to experience them through the eyes of your children.  It really is the best!
