Blackberry Pickin'

My mom has quite the green thumb.  I always give here a hard time when she comes home with new plants because, I swear, she is running out of room!  This year her garden has been a big hit in this house.  We just can't seem to eat the tomatoes as fast as they are growing!  One thing that there has been no shortage of is blackberries.
Sometimes when Lo and I take the pups out after dinner, we make a stop by the blackberry vine.  Let me tell you, this boy LOVES his berries.  We will pick some off for him to eat and he always gets so excited to have a little treat before bedtime.  Lately the weather has been incredible in the evenings so we sat outside for a minute last night so that I could pick some blackberries for breakfast in the morning.  I let Lo pick one out and of course, he picked the biggest one in there!
It's funny when you stop and think about things sometimes.  We've been living with my parents for over a year now.  To me, they are my parents and we just go through the normal day to day things like I always have. Most days, we would look at this particular night as just picking a few blackberries, nothing special.  But other days, I remember that moments like this are what childhood memories are all about.  It makes me think of running around my grandmothers house when I was little.  And now I get to remind my son when he's older about the nights that we would eat Grammy's blackberries straight off the vine that one summer that we lived with her.  It's the little things like this that I love about being a mom.
