21 Weeks

This morning I had my big 20 week appointment.  We did an ultrasound to basically take a ton of measurements and check a million things.  It was confirmed that we still have a boy, which is good considering I've been buying clothes already.  Lets just say that he is very proud to be a boy because he sure was showing it off this morning, just like Lo did at his ultrasound.  Everything measured right on track and there was nothing to be alarmed about.  So, good news there.  We saw that he has 2 arms, 2 legs, 2 hands and 2 feet.  He was moving around a little bit which is always cute to watch on the screen.  It really makes it feel more real.  I have been feeling him move so much lately.  I can feel movements now rather than just little kicks and pokes.  Last night it seemed like I felt him turn around in my stomach.  I also think that I've seen my belly move a little when he's kicked me a couple of times!

So this morning I had my first glucose test.  Annnnnd, I PASSED!!!  I had a feeling I would but I would be lying if I said that failing wasn't in the back of my mind.  I'm not getting too excited just yet because I still have to test again at 28 weeks, which is when you normally test.  At least I can have a few sweets until then.

Weight Gain:
So far I have gained 12 pounds.  I had gained 12 by my 24 week appt with Lo.  What is interested though is that I still weigh less than I did when I was pregnant with him.  What is also weird is that even though I have gained weight slightly faster this time, I feel smaller now than during the last pregnancy.  I have felt this way since the very beginning too.  I could still button my pants for a lot longer this time around.  Anyway, should be interesting to see how things continue.  I bet everything will even out to be the same by the end.
This was at 19 weeks

Maternity Clothes:
I have like I have started to show much more in the last couple of weeks.  My belly is definitely starting to pop.  It goes back down in the morning but by the end of the day, it's right back out there.  I have been wearing a lot more maternity clothes this time around.  What was nice about last time is that I could wear leggings and flowy tops since the majority of my pregnancy was over winter.  This time I had no choice but to invest in some shorts and pants.  I must say, they are very comfy.  I just bought some skinny jeans from H&M this morning and they are pretty awesome!  I definitely recommend them, especially for girls with skinny legs.  The material is really soft too.

While we are on the subject of clothes, I recently bought my first ever one-piece!  I was kind of dreading it since I usually wear bikinis.  We are going on a family vaca this summer so I figured I might feel more comfortable in a one-piece and much to my surprise, I really didn't mind it.  Once I got home and showed Loyal (who really liked it by the way) it really started to grow on me so now I kinda love it!  I ended up going back and buying a second one and I might even wear them post baby.  (I mean, not to Miami or anything.  Let's be serious.)

This time around I have really taken a liking to spicy foods.  It's crazy.  I have never minded spicy foods before and have always loved salsa but now I'm adding crushed red pepper when I cook and eating scoopfuls of jalapenos with my cheese dip.  Who am I??  I craved crunchy Cheetos with Lo and now I would die for the flaming hot ones.  I can't even walk down the chip isle or I will buy them and probably eat the whole bag.  It's best that I avoid that disaster at all costs.  I've also been craving Starbucks, which I have finally gotten under control.  It was really getting out of hand and honestly, I can't even remember when I had one last.  Thank goodness.

Baby Purchases:
About a month or 2 ago, I noticed that the double stroller we wanted went on sale so I went ahead and ordered it.  We really loved our Britax B-Agile Travel System and since we will be using our Britax B-Safe car seat for the new babe, we went with the Britax B-Agile double.  I was a little worried about how wide it is at first.  I read some blogs from people how have it and one said she did a trip to NYC and Disney and didn't have a problem at all.  I guess we'll see how it goes.  That brings me to my next purchase.  We went ahead and upgraded to a bigger car for me.  Well, technically it's "the family car" but it's mine. :)  Anyway, I got a Ford Explorer and it's pretty awesome!  We were in the market for an SUV but weren't familiar with what was out there and this one really took us by surprise.  I didn't even know that Ford had redesigned them but man, once I saw it in white, I knew it was for me!  It has 3 rows, which was one of our must-haves.  It drives great, has features that are great for people with kids and tons of room in the back!  Big plus, especially with that big double stroller!
The only disadvantage so far is that Lo's car seat didn't work in the middle.  I hated that at first but then realized that I'll be moving him to the window in just a couple months.  The advantage is that the infant seat still fits in the middle with Lo beside him!  That was reassuring.  Gotta protect those babies!
The bump is starting to grow!
