top 5: summer fav's

Every day I think to myself about how much I am ready for fall.  The clothes, the weather, the food...shall I continue?  No, because here we are...
right in middle of summer.

1. Summer waves
Summer Waves
and by waves, I am unfortunately not talking about the beach.  Darn.  BUT, the next best thing from the beach would be that wavy Victoria's Secret beach hair!  It looks good down and even in a pony tail.  I really love doing my hair like this, and if I add a little dry shampoo I can usually stretch it for a few days without washing.

2. Margartia nights
Margarita Nights
Rita's are a staple in my family but a good frozen marg to beat this summer heat is a must!  We go out for mexican and marg's at least once a week.  Seriously, cannot live without!!!

3. Brights & whites
Brights and Whites
white skinny jeans in the summer...yes please!  Brights are really in this summer too, especially neons.  And so is mint.
Brights, whites, and a little mint...perfect.
Arm Party
might as well throw an arm party in there too :)

4. Summer salads
Summer Salads
I love salads in the summer and soups in the winter.  I especially love spinach, throw in some fruit and you've got yourself a salad!

Spinach salad:
grilled chicken
fresh strawberry
sliced almonds
bleu cheese crumbles
balsamic vinagrette

5. Frozen yogurt
Frozen Yogurt
One of my guilty pleasures, enough said.

Five and a half weeks left of summer.  Hurry up fall!

  2. Hi, I stumbled across your blog from a picture on pinterest and I really love it! I know this is an old post but could you tell me how you do your hair in beach waves? It looks amazing!

    1. Thank you so much!! You are too sweet! I will try my best to explain this...
I use a 1/2 inch curling iron (just a regular one from Target, I think it's conair or something cheap). Hold the curling iron pointed straight down and wrap a small piece of hair around the iron (keep the clamp closed) and I wrap the hair away from my face. Once I'm done I kind of fluff my hair to separate the curls. It kinda takes a while but the curls last for a couple of days. I hope this helps. I have been meaning to do a tutorial but haven't found the time!
